Didn't really feel like dressing up too much today, so I pulled out an old dress (and by old, I mean old) and threw my pink blazer on just to add some color into it. I never, ever try to french braid my hair since my its super layered and bits of hair will come out over time (as you can see in the picture), but I got my friend to do it for me anyways.

On a completely unrelated note - if you guys watch American Idol then I know you guys will be able to relate - I AM SO GLAD HEEJUN IS IN THE TOP 24. He is my favorite and the only reason why I watch the show. And Philip. And Colton. Definitely made my day.

Ways To Wear Leopard

I decided to do a "ways to wear" post today since I haven't updated for a while because of MUN last week. This bodycon leopard shirt I got from Oasap, an online retail shop for women. It was at $25 when I got it - SUPER CHEAP. I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it, and felt like it would be a great piece to add to my closet. Since the pattern are quite big, I think this dress will be able to make your whole outfit subtle as well as bold, depending on how you style it. It's super stretchy as well.

Valentine's Day: a day for the exchange of tokens of affection

First of all, HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!

I made a valentine's mixtape for my boyfriend (since the whole long distance thing, I thought it was easier to give him something he can download haha) which you guys can also download here. Basically my valentine consists of skype calls and blackberry messenger chats so it's pretty much like every other day. I spent most of the day (while waiting for the boyfriend to get home from college) painting for my art class - I accidentally painted the background a different shade of green so now I'm re-painting the whole thing. It is taking FOREVER.

FINALLY, the day has come. Of course, I am no where in a position where I could get my hands on some of these lovely items but boy, if I could - I would. I think it's only available in the UK as wellMary Katrantzou is one of my favorite, favorite, favorite designers and her collaboration with Topshop is the stuff of dreams. I literally could cry right now just because of how beautiful these clothes are (and also because of how much I want them). I think it's safe to say that black (or white) is my go-to color for those days when I don't really feel like dressing up. I try not to dress in black too much - but its such a strong color (or lack thereof), I think it makes such a statement about your outfit. Plus, it's so easy to put outfits together with pieces that are black and white for the obvious reasons. The weather was particularly chilly today though so that sheer blouse didn't help at all - I'm getting the sniffles. Hopefully I won't get sick since school is getting busier than ever now that finals are closing in.

Sorry for the barren desert that is my blog the past few days. I've just not been that inspired, and I've been super busy doing the usual exciting school work.

I have been lusting over these pants for a while now and saw them on display over winter break in Zara. I didn't end up buying them, but then during the Chinese New Year break I decided to get them. I love the texture (corduroy) and the prints on the pants - saw it worn by a couple bloggers as well, so there is an abundance supply of inspiration if I needed to find any. I've been really into printed pieces lately and these pants are definitely the icing on the cake.

sorry for not updating for the longest time! I got sick a couple days ago so I was too tired to take pictures :( These pictures were taken the day after the Chinese New Year (yes, that part 2 post is still coming up). I didn't do much as I had to finish some drawing samples to send off to a university - but, I did go to pet stores earlier in the morning to get the boyfriend's (yes, we're back together) niece a present. We got her some goldfish. The boyfriend did go and buy himself a couple more yesterday and we named them Mike and Tam but then they died this morning from the water :( SADNESS.

I'll (hopefully) post again later today because I'm going to go shopping with my cousin, his girlfriend and Michael. Spend all that Chinese New Year money ;)

Love this knit sweater I bought by Topshop, goes well with almost everything. The bold stripes make the outfit, I think, I didn't find the need to accessorize or add an overload of other prints.

I also bought (the perfume) Flora by Gucci during my transit in Singapore. Best perfume I own, I reckon. I don't usually splurge on perfumes, I only own a couple that I use often, but I HAD to have this one.

Tex Saverio: Most amazing (Indonesian too, may I add) fashion designer, dubbed the next Alexander McQueen. If you're not already familiar with him, please familiarize youself here.

The weather today was crazy. There was this huge storm during the early afternoon and basically, the traffic jams became longer, the roads became flooded, all these billboards and trees were falling over. I did take a picture of what the storm did to one street sign on the highway. Cray cray.

Bit of an eventful day today but the most exciting would have to be the fact that I saw Tex Saverio and his little crew walking around at Grand Indonesia. At first I wasn't sure if it was him, but then I googled and he was wearing the same shirt in one picture and what he wore when I saw him. So I basically died. There was also this huge lego exhibition - but Tex Saverio definitely wins over that.

Also, those glasses that I got from Zara has VELVET rims. Yes, velvet. Fuzzy material. I had to get it, so I did. I also bought this python printed bag from Ananas designed to keep your bag clutter free.

Despite popular belief (due to my very misleading facebook pictures) I have not graduated today hahaha The school just decided to be rebellious and take graduation pictures halfway through the year. This is definitely a good idea. Everyone will be so lazy after we come back from break, I can already imagine it:

"Party tonight? And tomorrow night? And the night after?"
"Universities?? Meh."

Hahaha like my last exam for midterms (which is now officially over YES, ONE DOWN TWO TO GO) I didn't bother studying that much for. I did manage to get through it the next day though. First day of exams done guys. I don't have any exams tomorrow so I decided to take some time to post my outfit today! Midterms in 2 Days - It's All Good.

Midterms: An exam in the middle of an academic term

It's all good, as in, I'll freak out tomorrow. Short post today because I do need to study hahaha, regardless of my screw that attitude the sheer thought of sitting for 3 hours in one room writing about fun things still scare the bejeebus out of me. Anyways, this sweater was introduced by a sophomore in my school a few weeks ago and Wen-Wen proceeded to hunt it down in town (and of course, she was successful). She bought 3 so we can all be mitchy-matchy. YAY. I also went shopping with my madre last weekend for some goodies, and I did get some adorable finds for this winter so please check back for those! One of them being these suede booties I bought from Aldo. I love them, they are so comfortable to walk on (they're not tall) and I think they're alright for school.

You guys probably don't care, but I'll tell you about my exams anyways:
Wednesday Dec, 7th: English from the morning 'till lunch, then Physics.
Thursday Dec, 8th: NO EXAMS! Study hard.
Friday Dec, 9th: Foreign Language in the morning and nothing after lunch. I am absolutely petrified for this exam. Seriously, my francais skillage on a scale of 1-10 is about 0 to 0.5. And that's only on good days.
Monday Dec, 12th: Mathematics in the morn. and Art in the afternoon. Kay, art is a cool kid but math is one of those kids that are quiet and generally "in-the-background", but then one day you find out that they're actually b*tches and you're just sitting there going WOAH WOAH BACK UP THE TRUCK.
Tuesday Dec, 13th: Business and Management exam! Yay! I welcome this exam with open arms.
Wednesday Dec, 14th: Graduation pictures. Yeah. Just saying. Graduation. You know. No Big deal. Just pictures of mealldressedupinmygraduationtogaandhatorwhatevertheyrecalled.

I hope you guys don't mind the long post today, to make up for me being gone most of last week. And yes, I know my "ombre" nails were a long shot but I had to try it and it came out as crap as I thought it would :) Success. Brownie points for trying?

Was called for the very first time ever in my life, into the principal's office. So I wore my python blazer as an attempt to intimidate, and to have an air of formality about me to make sure that I don't get into too much trouble hahaha. Running On Nothing

I took a 6 hours nap (from 5 to 11 PM) yesterday and ended up not sleeping at all until dawn, more specifically like 1 and a half hours before school. I ended up putting on a bunch of pieces with prints together, not really sure if it worked well together and left the house still feeling confused. Regardless, I wore what I wore so...

I'm applying to my first university tonight (or maybe tomorrow morning depending on the state of my essays)!

GUEST BLOGGER: Velvet

Recently, I've been collecting lots of velvet material clothing pieces into my wardrobe. Mostly dresses, shirts, skirts and even shoes/heels. I am totally in love with the texture it gives to an outfit. I reckon velvet is very versatile, it can be dressed up with a pair of heels, a cocktail ring, and dark lips for a night time outfit or dressed down with minimal accessories for the day time. For this winter, I think a dark wine red velvet dress should be a staple. I can imagine this dress paired with either studded black Litas or any black pump, black cardigan, black tights (if its cold), dark red lips and gunmetal statement jewelry.

If you feel that a dress is too much velvet, a simple velvet tank would look stunning tucked in with a simple cotton bodycon skirt and statement jewelry piece. I am definitely going to invest in more velvet for the winter time.

Pompadour: A man's hairstyle in which the hair is combed up from the forehead.

The hairdo inspired by 90s Morrissey/Johnny Depp pompadour - I think it looks really androgynous, I love it. Add the cat eyes and the leopard pattern/necklace, my French teacher said I looked very feline today which I appreciate since I do take it as a compliment. I've realized I've been doing me, me, me posts the past few days so I will have another post after this of photos of people around my school and their outfits. So check back soon!

My cold is getting slightly better, but to be on the safe side I dressed quite warmly today (haha, yes that for me is dressing warmly). It got really warm towards the middle of the day so I was sweating like crazy under those layers but anyways. Sweat away the cold. My whole grade seems to be down with a cold, hahaha I'm sure I didn't spread my cold around ;)

So I've been begging my parents to let me get an undercut but to no avail, its pretty much a flat out no. Instead my mom offered a Celine luggage (LOL I REALLY DON'T SEE HOW AN UNDERCUT COULD AMOUNT TO A CELINE BUT ANYWAYS) so I was like hell yes. It's a win-win situation and it's about time too, that celine has been in my wishlist since ages. I'm pretty sure I'll be getting it for my 18th birthday (which is in a month's time!) so I'll definitely let you guys know! Exciteeed!

I'M SICK! YAY! I didn't post yesterday because I didn't go to school, so there was nothing to write about really. This is probably from the seasons changing (yes, thank god winter) or because I'm just really exhausted and my immune system is taking a holiday. Despite the cool weather, I was showing some skin today and that cardigan did not help keep me warm either. I love it anyways though. It has this gorgeous velvet lining and the rest of it is lace (patterns are velvet). It looks really vintage which I adore. I went to school today because I had a french oral and a math test (which I probably didn't do too well in because I was concentrating on either how runny my nose is or how much I really need to hold in my sneeze). Nevertheless, I'm glad they're over and done with. I will dedicate the rest of my week to resting and getting better so I can study for my midterms (in 2 weeks).

Don't even get me started on the shoes. I love them to bits, they make me feel so tall (well probably because they are so tall) but they're super comfortable to wear.

I love this new varsity jacket of mine. I bought it on the last day before leaving Singapore - I couldn't decide between this jacket or these Lace Pull & Bear shorts which were adorable. I decided on the jacket. THEN, I spent like 15 minutes deciding whether I should get the blue and cream or the beige and tan one. So many choices. Once I get back to Singapore (in 3 weeks or so) I'm definitely getting those lace shorts though.

QUICK UPDATE:
Here is a little photo diary of what I was up to in Singapore. I didn't take any pictures during the MUN conference itself :( but we took some group pictures, but its with my teachers at the moment. So until I get the pictures from them I'll post the ones that I have. It's basically just things, there's like one of me. I bought a bunch of new clothes I cannot wait to show you guys! Hay guys,
I know I promised to blog and it turned out wifi is like $10 PER computer ONLY for 24 hours in the hotel so I was like ......... no. But I had to get internet today because I need to write my speech and get in touch with people, so yeah. I'm posting now just to give you guys a preview of something I bought...

Topshop suede platformed heels for around 140 singapore dollars. They're about 10 feet tall. They're actually like, painful because they are so tall, but they are still amazing and basic and neutral and I love them.

And I bought a BUNCH of clothes from H&M, so excited to put outfits together with them!

GUYS I AM SO SORRY I HAVEN'T POSTED FOR ALMOST A WEEK D: It's just been one of those weeks and seriously the last time I went shopping was like ages ago so there literally is nothing new to show. My report card was sent home on Friday as well so I was really busy with school stuff over the week. I have my midterm exams in about 3 weeks time, and I'm leaving to THIMUN next Tuesday which means that I will go shopping, so expect posts. But probably not everyday. Occasional posts, throughout the week. I'm going to be in Singapore for 6 days so plenty of time to go shopping <3

I have to wear the ugliest travel uniform in the world (from our school) and I had to go buy khaki pants today (part of the uniform, but they tell us to buy it ourselves and not provide it????). So I went to MANGO and bought myself the cutest khaki pants (or more like beige legging pants LOL). If they're making me buy a pair then they're going to have to deal with beige. Might do a "how to turn an ugly uniform into something other than an ugly uniform" later.

I lost my blackberry last weekend. Let's just have a brief moment of silence now. I've had good times with it, it's a shame the bastard who took it wasn't a good samaritan and didn't call me back to give my blackberry back to its rightful owner - instead he took it (and yes, I know it is a he). Good luck getting past my password lock. Although it is Asia, he can probably get it hacked hahaha :( SADFACEEEEE

I'm still so sad. The thing I hate the most about losing something precious (and expensive) is well, obviously because it did cost money but also second, the sentimental value that it holds you know? All my texts and pictures and UGH I CAN CRY RIGHT NOW JUST TALKING ABOUT THIS. Like I would be grateful if the guy just came to me and gave me back my memory card and sim card and my blackberry case. He can keep the blackberry. Lol and yes my blackberry case holds sentimental value as well.

Winter, Where Art Thou?

I swear if I don't get to deck out in my winter coats and fuzzy socks soon I will punch something. Technically, the temperature here has dropped a couple degrees but since it's so sunny all the time it still feels hot anyways.

So, I've possibly had the worst week of my life what with report cards being sent home and university applications due, and stressing out about grades and whatever. This weekend will be my last weekend ~~hardcore partying~~ chilling with my friends, before I seriously need to just shut myself off from the world and study my little butt off.

I am also leaving to THIMUN in Singapore in like a week's time. Just to add to the list of activities Tamara is doing on her already very full plate. On the plus side though, I'm going to seriously stock up on shoes (no parents, yay - I hope my mom doesn't read this hahahaa).

We had a girls day in today ('cuz we went out at night lol) and basically my friends came over to sleep. We got ready - took the longest time, then they decided to go to sleep which of course was the most logical thing to do.........
So I was left alone with my other best friend, my blackberry, watching bridesmaids (funniest movie) all by myself. Then I tried sleeping, but then Wen-Wen (the one with the jeans) woke up and decided to keep laughing and commenting on the movie so I didn't end up sleeping hahahahaa.

Pardon if I'm a little bit rambling today. I have no excuse for it.

It's been a really busy weekend so I'm really sorry I went missing for like 3 days. I have a ton of work, although yes I admit, I have been putting them off - that's why I have so many. I need to get my shit together, its almost November and my university apps are due like in 2 weeks time and I'm pretty much SCREWED.

Oh my god typing all this down is really freaking me out even more now.

And I promised you guys a music playlist as well. Damn. I need to stop promising you guys things because it seems like a really awesome idea at the time and then I end up not doing it because I'm a lazy ass asian.

By the way, the gorgeous vintage oxfords I have on are my friend Wenwen's. I asked to borrow them today :) And for the rest of the outfit, I love the tres provoquer (#badfrenchspeakingskills) dress which I wore with this cropped tube top underneath because I am oh-so modest, don't wanna be showin' off too much skin ye know. Not as extreme as yesterday but this time I wore my little leopard accents. This lovely necklace that I'm wearing is a gift from my friend (and current outfit picture photographer - hence the new background/settings) Wenny. My sister is away on her Grade 5 camp, so I've been asking my fashionista friend to take my pictures right now hahahaha.
I feel so awkwardos taking pictures in school, my face in all the pictures are so awkward it's not even funny; Exhibit A: the somewhat bright picture of me laughing/smiling/whatever. At that moment my English teacher passed and mentioned something about modelling and I wanted to die of embarassment. It wasn't even a compliment either it was just like a quick oh modelling *something something*... :/
That book I took a picture of is from my Theory of Knowledge class. My friend told me (the one in the middle sitting on the couch) that it was really interesting and I think it is too. I LOVEEE philosophy books.
