Let your Lips Do The Talking (Your Participation)

Correspondence: A close similarity, connection, or equivalence.

I'm not particularly enthusiastic in the make-up department. I have maybe 5-6 shades of lipstick that I use (often). So today I decided to do a post on what type of outfits (since one of you has been asking for another 'tutorial' :) which I guess this could kind of be) I would have on according to the shade of lipstick. Plus, my posts lately have been lacking in level of interest and inspiration, just normal outfit posts (which I may add weren't that interesting either) so this is my making-it-up-to-you-guys post.

I'm only using these three shades:

1. Nude - Cremesheen Creme d'Nude by M.A.C
2. Rose - Watershine pure P12 by Maybelline
3. Rouge - Matte Russian Red by M.A.C

For le nude:

I would have to say this is my least favorite out of all three. This shade makes me look really sickly and I guess looks horrible with my skintone, and I have no idea why I have this particular shade. The lack of eyeliner also probaby made it worse and not to mention my weird pose. What the heck am I doing? Anyways, I paired my nude lipstick with pieces of generally the same shade (and white) ALTHOUGH can you believe I don't own nude pumps?!?! It's redonkulous. I just never found that perfect pair you know? Nude pumps are like shoes that I'll only just want one of, and that ONE pair needs to be absolutely magnifique et tres belle. I'll make a whole post about it once I find that one pair.

For le rose:

When I look at the shade of this lipstick, all I can think about is spring. So naturally, the lipstick goes with my flower tube dress and my H&M wedges. A shade of rose for my cheeks and a swipe of light pink on my lids and voila. The one thing that I must (yes, I must) complain about is the shine. I need to get a matte lipstick of this similar shade. Maybe a more pastel pink. And/or coral. I think with a lipstick shade like this, you're better off doing a more romantic ensemble :) But then again, maybe you can put together an edgy/formal look with it as well.

For le rouge:

I have never worn red lipstick out before, ever. I'm SO sloppy when it comes to applying them, I really need to get some lip brush and lip liner and perfect my skills because I really want to start wearing them out more. Challenge myself you know? And plus, I'll be on holidays, which means Jakarta which means more dressing up opportunities. More than here in Hanoi anyways. For this lipstick, I paired it with my two-tone dress from Zara and my red mary-janes. I think it came together quite nicely, don't you? I actually am not too fond with this shade of red. I think it really washes out my skin color - I need one with a more orange base. I think this shade is a tad too dark. I guess you'd go all out with a black dress and red lipstick. I'll maybe try it one day with a more casual outfit and see how it looks :)

I hope you guys enjoyed this post today and really sorry for the lack of insightful posts lately. Have been very inspired and just cranky in general - not really sure why. So blogging became more of a chore sometime :( In my usually uneventful life, I had a breath of fresh air today as a couple younger kids in my school (and my physics teacher) came up to me to acknowledge my little presence in Teen Vogue (yes, the magazine) - on the fashion click advertisement. That was really nice :)

So now the most important thing that you MUST MUST read (if you skipped all the other things I wrote) - I want you guys to do a post similar to this (if you have the time). Leave a comment below with your link and I'll pick the one with the most interesting interpretation of lipstick shades and outfit!

Your post must include:
- At least 2 shades of lipstick and their corresponding outfits
- A link to my blog or this post (at least acknowledge me in some way or another or as Bryan Boy tags it "shameless self-promotion" on my part)
- Comment on 2 other blogs telling them about this post ;) (more shameless self-promotion on my part)

I'll then write a whole post on you - including interviews, and photos, and so on (a little shameless self-promotion on your part). I hope you guys will participate!! I'm really super duper excited to see what you guys will come up with :) Deadline is I guess the next week or so, I'll keep it open because I'm not really sure how many people will participate hahaha.

If you don't have a blog and want to participate anyway (ie. people in my school), send me the photos of your outfits/lipstick (with your name, age and nationality) and I'll compile a list for a port :)
