Ways to Wear a Dress

Remix: A remix is an alternative version of a song, made from an original version. This term is also used for any alterations of media other than song (film, literature etc.).

So I love rewearing my dresses in different ways - ways in which they are not usually worn. It's a great way of remixing your wardrobe and not keep having to buy a billion different pieces to create new looks. First thing first though, my outfit today is of my polka dot dress worn as a top (tucked in my high waist shorts).

So of course the first way of wearing a dress is by itself. There are a gazillion accessories that you can wear to complement the dress. For this particular one, I usually like to belt it to give it a little more shape. You can always use scarves, bangles of the same color or the same shade/pattern.

A second way of wearing this dress is wearing a top over it. Since it's has a peter pan collar, I can wear a top over it and still have it look good. I can also use an outerwear such as a blazer, a vest, a cardigan or a coat (for cooler days)

A third way is wearing them with bottoms. I always do this. I always wear my dresses tucked in something, either my harems or shorts. This is a great way to rewear your dresses I think because some dresses serve as a great top as well.

A fourth way is a spin off of the third. You can just use the bottoms of the dress, so it serves as a skirt. You can wear a baggy sweater over the top and just use the skirt as a piece of the outfit.

So get experimenting and remix your clothes!

  1. Ahh, what a great post! You have truly mastered the art of remixing the dress... I think my favorite way, as you said, is tucking it into a bottom; because some dresses just work too well as tops!
