Gong Xi Fa Cai!

Cheongsam: The cheongsam is a body-hugging (modified in Shanghai) one-piece Chinese dress for women; the male version is the changshan. It is known in Mandarin Chinese as the qípáo Wade-Giles ch'i-p'ao, and is also known in English as a mandarin gown.

Starting off the lunar new year with a dash of red cheongsam and casual, baggy jeans. Didn't want to overdress, but didn't want to underdress either. How is everyone's day going? Mine consisted of going around to meet the family and getting lucky money - angpao. A lot of what I got will go right into my savings which is a surprise since I always spend most of the money I get from Chinese New Year but this year I really do have to start saving up some money.

(Traditional Silk Cheongsam shirt, Zara baggy jeans, Louis Vuitton rose bag, Zara blue heels)

I haven't worn one of these since a long time ago and I forgot how beautiful the details can be. The gold against the yellow and the silk... Well a huge reminder of my Chinese heritage.

I love these blue suede heels I got from Zara. They're a really comfortable height - one of my shortest heels - so I can wear them for a long period of time without feeling like my toes are going to fall off.

So I wish everyone a wonderful year full of good health and fortune (SO CHINESE RIGHT NOW), GONG XI FA CAI EVERYONE!

Sunrise Sunset

Advice: a proposal for an appropriate course of action.

This is the outfit that I will wear tomorrow to travel to Singapore in. Except I can't decide over the two bags. I love the messenger bag and I want to bring it to singapore so I might as well hand carry it, but the fringe bag fits the outfit better... Any comments? They will be much appreciated thanks :)

The outfit by itself:
I am wearing:
1. Zara grey blazer
2. Black tank and brown belt
3. Zara floral Harem Pants
4. Aldo black wedges

The outfit with the messenger bag:

The outfit with the fringe bag:

So which?

Well the dilemma is that I want to bring the messenger bag to Singapore, and i only want to bring 1 bag, but the fringe bag looks much better with the outfit, and is much more spacious so... Comments?

Messenger Bags (Old School Style)

Messenger Bag: A messenger bag (also called a courier bag) is a type of sack, usually made out of some kind of cloth (natural or synthetic), that is worn over one shoulder with a strap that winds around the chest resting the bag on the lower back.

Today, I went out with a couple friends after school to visit this boutique downtown called "Fedora". It has this charming little vintage vibe and has the most adorablest bags and shoes.

Naturally, I bought a couple (old school) messenger bags which I have been wanting since FOREVER for like $10-$20. So cheap. Here are some pictures:

As you can see already, the style of the bag and tags is very vintage influenced. Love it.

Above is the picture of the first messenger bag. Bought this bag for around 380,000 vnd, which is around $20 US. Absolutely adorable, I will take it with me to Singapore for sure.

The first black bag is twice the size of this one. This bag is around 275,000 vnd, which is around $15 US. SO CHEAP RIGHT? And its absolutely adorable. There is a knit pattern on the front and back while the body itself is leather.

Sometimes thrifting at the right stores can be quite productive.

Take care,
Tammie.
