Graduation: The receiving or conferring of an academic degree or diploma

Despite popular belief (due to my very misleading facebook pictures) I have not graduated today hahaha The school just decided to be rebellious and take graduation pictures halfway through the year. This is definitely a good idea. Everyone will be so lazy after we come back from break, I can already imagine it:

"Didn't we already graduate last December?"
"... Why are we still here?"
"Party tonight? And tomorrow night? And the night after?"
"Universities?? Meh."

Hahaha like my last exam for midterms (which is now officially over YES, ONE DOWN TWO TO GO) I didn't bother studying that much for. I did manage to get through it the next day though. So since my exams are over, I am planning to post more often but then again I always say that so, we'll just see :) I definitely will try!

There Was a What Now?

Earthquake: shaking and vibration at the surface of the earth resulting from underground movement along a fault plane of from volcanic activity.

Apparently 5-10 minutes before I started writing this post, there was an earthquake in Hanoi? My friends were freaking out but I didn't feel anything at all! Wow, it was apparently an aftershock from Laos's earthquake - just now - with a scale of 7. All these earthquakes :( There's also a prediction that Hanoi will get hit by one as big as an 8 or 9 which is HUGE. It really is very scary. Nobody got hurt, thank god, and my friends who REALLY felt the earthquake (mostly living in apartments or nearer downtown) is fine as well so that's really fortunate :) Also because of all the Japan tsunami buzz, I guess everyone makes this earthquake that much bigger of a deal than it should be because everyone's worried about the tremors and disasters :( Not that there's anything wrong with being worried of course.

Apart from the earthquake, today it got way cold again. It was 13 C in the morning and its currently 16 C now, but still. Not that I'm looking forward to the warmer weather either. Here, it'll be humid and way too hot... So it's a lose-lose situation I guess... I should just stop whinging about it, and make the best of it huh? Dress up in winter clothes for a bit longer won't hurt anyone.

Saturday is Earth day guys, so turn off all your electric appliances and lights at 8 :)

Rainy Days

Condensation: atmospheric moisture that has condensed because of cold

After having warm temperatures for a bit, the temperature dropped again - about 10 degrees. There was a crazy storm yesterday which cooled down the weather considerably so now its back to jackets, tights and whatnot (not that it was ever gone).

There were some heavy condensation going on for a while because of the drastic change in temperature, so I made pretty window doodles. The raindrops and condensation really gives a frosty effect which is so lovely, but of course its not REALLY frosty.

I've also recently just joined a hypeed competition to win a gift card to shop at Luisaviaroma! I'd really appreciate if you guys could vote for my contribution, although I'm pretty sure I wont win. Just something I thought I'd try :) There's a widget on the sidebar that says Hypeed.com, and if you guys click on "my contributions" it'll take you to the page. Thanks in advance!

Them Black Cats.

Undergo: pass through; "The chemical undergoes a sudden change"; "The fluid undergoes shear"; "undergo a strange sensation".

Finally wore the cat sweater today - I matched my friend as she has one in black as well. It was absolutely, butt-numbing cold today and I regretted not putting on another layer. It dropped a straight 5 degrees from yesterday from a storm earlier this morning; 18 C to TWELVE. Coming from a country as tropical as Indonesia, this was like the ice age for me. Next time I should definitely not sacrifice comfortability and well being for style. Another life lesson I should know not to NOT do but I frequently undergo. I did however (or my mom did) throw on a blue scarf on just before I left for school which I don't know if it helped warm me up in any way at all, but I kept on anyways.

(thrift cat sweater, Forever 21 belt, Forever 21 cotton skirt, thrift boots)

Looking sort of chubbs on the face a little. I think its the angle? or the hair?
I actually tucked in the sweater into my belt (or attempted to) because the sweater will
bunch under the tight skirt - the look should work if you're wearing
a figure-hugging anything to pair it with.
I only realized during school that I was wearing red and green and felt real Christmas-y the whole day, for some reason.

CAT SWEATER CLUB? Wore the blue scarf in school.

Such a happy picture of everyone! The guys in our school are a good head taller than us so... haha.

Them cats in black. SO CUTE.
To conclude (I have just used the most generic phrase to conclude something), I'm leaving for Jakarta tomorrow and so be sure to look forward to some interesting posts! Transitting over Hong Kong for 2 hours and Singapore. I'll be sure to do some stylespotting and maybe attempt to take some stalker pictures with my big SLR camera.

HAVE A GOOD HOLIDAY EVERYONE :)
Gotta go upload some Christmas music to my iPod, Tammie.

Seductive Candy Cane Eating

QUICK UPDATE:
Haven't had one of these for a while, so I decided to write now. Christmas is really getting closer and there's a reminder all over our school. We have multiple christmas trees up around - can't really say how many but we do. Here are some photos of the tree and also some stuff in the 12th grade common room.
This is the tree up in the 12th grade Common room.
A big fat reminder that school's out in a couple days.

This is what we kids live off of in school. Chocolate milk goodness.

Also a big fat reminder, not of christmas obviously.
We also had art class today, and my friend is doing portraits of us using a particular style of an artist where she just draws our hair and our lips.

I really see a likeness, don't you? HAHAHA.
I actually think her hair looks a lot the same on the painting as hers real-life. And the lips too kind of. Haha!
Also - I'm most excited about this - let me show you my latest GIF masterpiece. I'm not sure what my friend was doing but I'm glad I caught it on camera.

It's like seductive candy cane munching. Or tormenting? Jaw-breaking?
I-haven't-had-one-of-these-in-a-while-ing? I'm not sure.
Comment for suggestion of titles? :D

Fashion and Exams.

Exams: A test or an examination (or "exam") is an assessment, often administered on paper or on the computer, intended to measure the test-takers' or respondents' (often a student) knowledge, skills, aptitudes, or classification in many other topics.

I'm taking my half-hour break (just finished going through Mathematics revision) before continuing on to Business and Management revision and I've decided to write a post on the exams. My friend today suggested I posted one on what to wear when taking one.
I figured this would be an interesting post as people would usually dress up more for comfortable than for functionality. So here are some tips:

1. Be comfortable, but get out of your pyjamas.
"mmm. Just ran out to get some Starbucks but couldn't be bothered to get changed out of my comfies."
It's all too common for people to dress in sweats and uggs before taking their exams. Why? Because they're comfortable of course. I get it, sitting 2-3 hours at one time writing about stuff like MATH and HISTORY could be a little uncomfortable but why is this a not-so-good idea? Because you'll feel like you're going back to bed. But you're not. You're taking your exams.
So dress comfortably but get out of your comfort clothes! It will only make you feel too relaxed and like you just got out of bed. Trust me you don't want to feel like this. An alternative could be a pair of comfy jeans and a top (whether it be a shirt or a tank). Pair an outerwear with this outfit so you can easily get warmer or cooler whenever you feel.

Rachel Bilson knows how to take her exams. Professional and casual.
Since it's getting cooler where I am, a jacket or blazer could be nice as they will keep you warm as well as provide the flexibility in movement (on your arms - you'll be writing). Don't wear big coats or anything, it'll be too much of a hassle.

2. Get those hair out of your face. Nicely.
Stress + bad weather + hand on forehead constantly + TAKING YOUR EXAMS = hair in your face/sticking on your forehead/oily/sweaty/you get the point. Don't just stick on a headband and go (well I guess you could, but what's the harm in looking nice?). Also headbands give you headaches, and aches behind your ears due to the pressure on them. It's uncomfortable.
I think it's always a good idea to get your hair out of the way completely by having it in a:

Bun
My favorite. When done neatly, there will be nothing sticking out of your head, everything will be held in place.
Ponytail
I like to do mine a bit higher because when my hair constantly brush against my neck and shoulder it gets really uncomfortable, but it gets the job done.
Braid
Pretty! And voila, no hair on thy face.
3. Accesorize? Maybe not.

You'd probably die if I gave you a punch. Feel the wrath of my arm-things.
I would steer clear from big chunky bangles, long necklaces, dangly earrings or a billion of rings on the day you're taking your exams. Not only will they make noise, they will be quite distracting and uncomfortable when you're taking your exams. I always take off my bracelets before I write because it gets too loud and uncomfortable. Long dangly earrings can get caught in your hair, as you're brushing it away from your face (BUT YOU SHOULDN'T BECAUSE I TOLD YOU GUYS TO HAVE IT UP RIGHT?). Rings can just get painful when you're writing. So, no-no to accessories.

Okay, I have to go now and revise for my other exams. Wish me luck!

Happy exams-writing,
Tammie.
